Assiddique Weekly has entered a new chapter. After years of producing a print bulletin from carefully prepared LaTeX source files, the entire project is moving to its new online home at AsSiddique.com. This step preserves everything that has been built so far while opening the door to a richer, more accessible, and more sustainable future for our community outreach.

From print pages to a living website

For many months, our bulletin lived within the limits of four to five printed pages. That constraint shaped what could be shared: a few articles, one or two reflections, and only a selection of news and announcements. Moving to a website frees us from those physical limits. Now, content can grow as needed, and important topics no longer have to “wait for space” in a future issue.

All previous articles, editorials, reflections, and news items are being migrated to the website so that nothing is lost. Instead of being buried in old stacks of paper, they will be searchable, browsable, and always available—for current members, alumni, and anyone who discovers us online. This turns the history of the bulletin into a permanent archive of the Islamic Center’s voice and memory.

New sections and new possibilities

Being online allows AsSiddique Weekly to expand beyond what a printed bulletin can reasonably carry. New sections can be added over time:

• Dedicated pages for dawah articles and FAQs about Islam.

• A space for community news, events, and volunteer opportunities.

• Reflections and reminders organized by theme (faith, family, youth, campus life, etc.).

• Alumni updates and stories, helping former students and community members remain part of the AsSiddique family, no matter where they live now.

This flexibility means the website can grow with the community. As new needs appear—youth programs, special series, educational projects—the site can host them without worrying about page counts or printing deadlines.

Serving the mission and the community

This transition is not just a technical upgrade; it is a strategic step to strengthen the mission of the Islamic Center in Stillwater. A website is accessible 24/7 from anywhere in the world, allowing the Center to:

• Reach non-Muslim neighbors and seekers who are curious about Islam and may never pick up a printed bulletin.

• Keep alumni connected to the masjid and to one another, even after they graduate or move away.

• Provide a clear “mouthpiece” for the Islamic Center and the Muslim community in Stillwater, where views and positions can be presented thoughtfully, consistently, and in context.

In a time when many conversations about Islam take place online, the community must have a reliable, well-organized platform where it can speak for itself. AsSiddique.com is intended to be that platform.

Stewardship and sustainability

Moving online is also an act of stewardship. Each printed issue required paper, ink, and time for printing and distribution. By shifting the primary publication to the web, the Islamic Center reduces waste and lowers costs, while still being able to offer printed copies when needed for those who prefer or require them. Saving paper and ink is a small but meaningful way to honor the environment and use community resources wisely.

At the same time, digital publication allows faster updates. Corrections, additions, and late-breaking announcements can be posted immediately, rather than waiting for the next print run. This keeps the community better informed and allows the bulletin to respond quickly to events, opportunities, and needs.

Looking ahead

The launch of AsSiddique.com is only the beginning. As the site grows, community members, volunteers, and alumni will be invited to contribute ideas, content, and feedback. The hope is that this platform will become:

• A trusted source of Islamic knowledge and reflections.

• A bridge between the mosque and the wider Stillwater community.

• A home base for generations of students, families, and friends whose lives have been touched by the Islamic Center.

May this move from LaTeX pages to a living website be a means of ongoing sadaqah jariyah—continuous charity—benefiting all who read, write, and act on the words shared through AsSiddique Weekly.
