Iran Launches Major Attack on Saudi Air Base Housing U.S. Troops
Iran launched a significant attack using ballistic missiles and drones against Saudi Arabia’s Prince Sultan Air Base on Friday. The base, which is shared by Saudi and U.S. forces and located outside the capital Riyadh, was struck in what appears to be a coordinated assault.
According to the Associated Press and multiple news organizations, at least 12 U.S. service members were wounded in the attack, with several reported to be in serious condition. The attack comes as the regional conflict reaches its one-month mark, with tensions continuing to escalate across the Middle East.
Iran released Chinese satellite photos claiming to show burning aircraft at the base. According to Iranian state media:
- One aerial refueling tanker was destroyed
- Three other aircraft were damaged
- Multiple infrastructure facilities were hit

Simultaneously, the Israeli military announced it had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen toward Israel, indicating the conflict is expanding geographically. The Pentagon has reported a total of 13 U.S. troops killed and more than 300 injured since the war began.
